eBay's Out of Stock Option
eBay's Out of Stock Option: Keep Your Listings Active, Even When You're Out of Stock!
With eBay's Out of Stock Option, you can keep your listings active on eBay, even when you're out of stock. Here's how it works:
- Good 'Til Cancelled Listings:
All of your existing and future Good 'Til Cancelled listings will automatically use the out-of-stock option until you disable it. - What Happens When You're Out of Stock:
When the quantity of your listing reaches 0, your listing remains active but will be hidden from search results. Buyers won't be able to make a purchase, but the listing stays live on eBay. - How Quantity Reaches Zero:
Your listing’s quantity can hit 0 either through buyer purchases or if you manually revise the listing to set the quantity to 0. - Restocking:
Once you increase the available quantity, your listing will be eligible to appear in search results again! - Duration Changes:
If you change your listing’s duration to anything other than Good 'Til Cancelled, the out-of-stock option will no longer apply, and the listing will end when the quantity reaches 0. - Ending Listings:
You can end your Good 'Til Cancelled listing at any time, even if the out-of-stock option is enabled.
How to Enable the Out-of-Stock Option:
- Go to My eBay > Account > Site Preferences or Seller Hub > Overview > Shortcuts > Site Preferences.
- In the Selling Preferences section, click Show next to Sell Your Item form and listings.
- Click Edit next to Use the out-of-stock option.
- Make your selection and click Submit.
